How to Build a Registration Form

IdeaTo allow participants to sign up for your events, a registration site must be created. A well-structured registration form is essential for a smooth registration experience and a successful event. 

To build your registration form, follow these steps:

  1. Choose the event from the company dashboard
  2. In the left-side navigation, click the down arrow next to the Registration module to expand the menu options
  3. Click Form. You will see that Page 1 and the Receipt page are automatically created
  4. Click into Page 1 to begin creating the form. Rename the page in the Page Name fieldb. First Name, Last Name, and Email fields are automatically added to the registration form and are requiredc. Add additional fieldsd. Drag and drop fields from the Existing Fields table OR create new fields using Add Fields button at the bottom of the page

5. Change the order of fields by using the center bar icon in the middle of the questions field to drag and drop

  • Label: Verbiage that will appear on the form, visible to participants
  • Type: Options for how the field answers are displayed on the form
    • Text Field: open ended text field
    • Radio Buttons: list of options - can only select one
    • Checkboxes: list of options with a - more than one can be selected
    • Dropdown: list of options - can only select one
    • Paragraph: open ended long text field
    • HTML Block: useful for instructions, informational text
    • File Upload: all file types accepted
    • Date
    • Time
    • Payment
    • Promo Code
    • Set Field
  • Added fields are automatically set as required - click the Required toggle off to make the field optional
  • To Hide/Show toggle controls if the field is visible on the form
  • Click the three dots to the right of a field to view additional display options
    • Add Show If: to set a visibility rule
    • Move field to top: will move the field to be the first option on the form
    • Move field to bottom: will move the field to be the last option on the form
    • Add Mask: set the format of a field

    • Add Character Limit: limit how many characters can be input
    • Read Only If Complete: field cannot be edited once the participant has completed registration
    • Read Only If Set: pre-populated fields can't be edited by participants (i.e. client imports company address)
  • Click the '+' to add additional pages
  • Receipt page is the final page of the registration form to confirm participants have successfully completed registration
    • Customize the text in the HTML block and add in dynamic fields from the Glossary
    • To add dynamic fields that are not listed in the Glossary, email your Project Manager for assistance
  • After every update made click Save and Deploy Live
    • Save will only save the changes on the backend
    • Deploy Live will make the changes visible on the registration form
  • Click Preview Event Website button to test the registration form at any time during the build process
